Workshop Trainings for Safecity Volunteers in Delhi

In order to acquire knowledge and skills in delivering workshops on gender-based issues like Sexual Harassment, Safe sex and the likes, our Youth Outreach Officer from Delhi organised a 5-day training between 2nd August and 21st August. The 7 participants, the volunteers of Safecity, were given a range of topics to cover, discuss and deliver. They chose one particular topic they most related with and prepared their presentations on that. They were provided with various background material, videos, movie recommendations, research papers, etc. to enhance their understanding of the issue and deliver it in a more confident manner.

Overall, seven topics were distributed to the seven volunteers; Sexual Harassment, Child Sexual Abuse, Consent, Domestic Violence, Gender and Sex, Menstrual Hygiene and Safe Sex. From creating the presentation to presenting it in front of the crowd, every participant showed wonderful enthusiasm. They took initiatives to include different activities and videos to make the material more engaging for their target audience. They left no stones unturned in coming up with ideas for making the presentations impactful. 

The training was a lot more than just making a presentation; the participants did role play, fun activities, wrote anonymous chits for each other and empowered each other by sharing stories in most powerful way possible.
