Our Founder speaks on “The Obscured Role of Women in Nonviolent Movements”
October 6, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
All around the world, there have been wars, battles and movements and women have played an active role as leaders, spokespeople and frontline activists in non-violent struggles for peace and justice. But their role and work in these movements have largely gone unrecognized and researched leaving women’s part in such movements grossly underestimated.
On October 6, USIP will be releasing a Special Report on women’s roles in non-violent struggles. With the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) and the non-profit organization Just Vision, USIP will gather path-breaking activists, scholars and filmmakers to examine how women’s participation—and the success of non-violent campaigns—can be strengthened.
Our Founder, Elsa Dsilva, will be one of these ground-breaking activists and also one of the panelists discussing “The Obscured Role of Women in Nonviolent Movements” with the#UnitedNationsInstituteofPeace (USIP), the National Democratic Institute – NDI for International Affairs and the non-profit organization Just Vision.
It will be live webcast so all of you can tune in on the 6th!
