Safecity at the UN Women Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces Global Forum

The UN Women Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces Global Forum on the theme “Safe, Empowering and Sustainable City Approaches in Action for Women and Girls” brought around 200 leaders/experts from over 20 countries participating in evidence based and human rights based programmes in UN Women’s Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces Global Flagship Programme Initiative (FPI) including: grassroots women, authorities, research institutions/partners, representatives from the media, private sector, and other partners from global networks specialized on women’s safety. The Forum aims to share and discuss evidence-based approaches, practices, tools, and learnings to advance the international knowledge base on safe cities and safe public spaces for women and girls.
ElsaMarie D’Silva, the Founder and CEO of Safecity, will be talking about the work that Safecity does on Information Communication Technologies to Prevent and Respond to Sexual Harassment and Other Forms of Violence against Women in Public Spaces in the third session on Day 2.
The sessions in this part of the programme are structured around two areas in the pathway to change for the Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces Global Flagship Programme Initiative.
Tools, practices, challenges and solutions in implementing comprehensive evidence and human rights based safe city free of violence against women and girls’ approaches will be shared and discussed.
