Safecity and Womenability have joined hands to organise a walk in Khar West to explore Bombay through the gender lens and reflect on women’s experience in the Maximum City.

Womenability is an international group, leading 25 exploratory walks around the world to identify issues encountered by women in public space and are working with the UN toward developing a charter for gender-equitable cities. Safecity (www.safecity.in) is a platform that crowdsources personal stories of sexual harassment and abuse in public spaces. This data which maybe anonymous, gets aggregated as hot spots on a map indicating trends at a local level. The idea is to make this data useful for individuals, local communities and local administration to identify factors that causes behavior that leads to violence and work on strategies for solutions.
