Bhavana Asthana

Bhavana is leading our Safe Dwarka Campaign where the team is mapping housing societies, getting in touch with RWAs and facilitating a cop-resident interface, conducting workshops and facilitating people from all age groups.

Quoting Bhavana- “For women, insecurity is a way of life in Delhi. Having being voted as one of the most unsafe cities for women to travel or live alone in, owing to the evident and perpetual rise in the number of cases of crimes against women, Delhi has managed to shape a grim image for itself.

One doesn’t need to probe deep to encounter cases of eve-teasing in any form. Being a girl myself, I experience eve-teasing in numerous forms, be it ogling or catcalling. Things of this so sort are so frequent, they’re almost embedded into the routine. Of late, I have been experiencing a very rapid rise in the number of cases I hear from my near and dear ones, indicating towards such rise on a macro level too, and I am done accepting it as a way of life.”
