Adolescent Expectation from Education
On 12th July, Jahanara Raza @jahanara_raza conducted a Tweetchat on “Adolescent Expectation from Education” –
The chat commenced by asking how female students can form their voice to which the audience replied with options like ‘providing opportunities within and outside school’ and ‘giving them equal freedom’. The next topic of discussion was the meaning of ‘quality education’. As per the audience’s opinion, quality education is the ability of students to use their knowledge and skills towards productive goals as they grow up. It must also provide an all-round experience in the field of students’ choice. The next question was “what do students expect from their education?” The audience replied with answers like providing life skills, job skills, giving them an all-around experience that helps them to exceed the career of their choice. The chat was concluded by asking the audience for their suggestions on how the gap between students’ expectations and the education they receive can be bridged.
