Awareness about Puberty and Menstruation
Naina Jha conducted a workshop creating awareness about Puberty and Menstruation on 27th November, 2017 at St. Louis School in Patna for 27 girls from standard VII to X.
One of the teachers said that, ‘It was really fulfilling that an opportunity was provided to girls to know about the issues of adolescence, which will help them to understand themselves.”
I feel that when we educate girls about their bodies and its changes, we empower them to not only take care of themselves but to also feel more confident in doing so. When we empower the youth of our communities we are creating change for the future.
A girl of Std. Xth said, “The session on puberty was good and informative as it clarified our doubts and problems which we are presently facing.”
Her classmate said, “The trainer clarified facts and myths regarding puberty and menstruation and explained it on a scientific basis. After this session we are certainly not going to follow any myths associated to periods and will pass on the information we learned to others.”
