Is Housework still a Woman’s Responsibility?

On 4th Jan 2019 Tamana Baghla @BaghlaTamana conducted a tweetchat about household chores still being a woman’s responsibility.

Tamana Baghla wished to take up the issue of gender roles within a house and began the chat by asking the audience why housework and raising children are mainly a woman’s job and for the many reasons why a housework gender gap still persists. Tamana pointed out the fact that whether women were working professionally outside the home or not, they still did more of the household chores. The audience was asked for their thoughts on the same. Tamana also asked the audience whether society’s expectations from women were the main reason that household chores are still a woman’s duty and how the responsibility of household chores could be distributed equally between partners.
