My Safe Space
On Friday 9th November, Merril Diniz @MerrilD conducted a tweetchat on the importance of #MySafeSpace and the new rules of engaging with one another while acknowledging personal space.
The chat began by understanding what ‘safe spaces’ mean to different people. Merril asked the participants to share how they are creating safe spaces within their communities, and around them. The audience were then asked for suggestions on building a safer Internet for women, especially those from marginalised communities who had underrepresented voices. Finally, the chat ended by asking the audience for positive news from around the world on how safe spaces are transforming lives.
