Role of Media in Reducing Inequalities #SDG10

On 3rd March, 2017, Sharda Vishwanthan @visharda conducted a Tweetchat on the Role of media in reducing inequalities. The chat started by discussing the different media and how they perpetuate inequalities. As the chat processed subjects like whether media is a relevant actor in reducing inequalities or not and reasons for the same were also discussed. Into the chat, examples for mass media that helped break gender stereotypes were exchanged. The role of the press to empower communities was also taken in consideration. At the end, the chat was concluded by discussing the best way to harness the power of social media to minimise the many inequalities.
