Safety in the Online and Offline World

Last week, Deepti Sutaria @haltabuse conducted a TweetChat talking about the concept of safety both in the online and offline world. The TweetChat brought to surface issues relating to the reaches of modern technology and its negative impact upon society, as it aids stalking and various other forms of harassment. The participants discussed the importance of creating safety booklets and use popular entertainment medium to spread awareness of hiatus harassment crimes that aren’t being given too much attention. Another issue brought up was our patriarchal society, where even women condemn women because of societal prestige, which as discussed, shouldn’t come in the way as it seems to boost many crimes. Lastly, they shed light upon safety measures that should be taken in the offline and online world.
