Technology to address Sexual Violence

On 1st September, Ushree Roy @Usriroy conducted a tweetchat on how ‘Technology can be used to address sexual violence”.

The chat began by first questioning whether technology played a role in addressing and fighting sexual violence. Once agreed on, the various challenges of harnessing technology to fight sexual violence were discussed. The participants spoke about the protocols that should be in place to protect the safety and privacy of users, ways to educate and train women and whether the Government should and have extended their support towards such endeavours by non-governmental bodies. The chat ended by asking the audience for possible advocacy plans to make women aware of the available technologies to address gender based violence.
