Urban Planning and Gender
On 22nd June, Savhera @SavheraWellness conducted a tweetchat on ‘Urban Planning and Gender’.
The chat began by first asking why women experience the city differently than men and what were the differences in experiences. The discussion progressed to finding out the reasons why increasing female representation in decision-making is fundamental to building more humane cities and what are the ways of doing so. The curator asked the audience for their views on the major challenges of big cities to achieve gender equality. Bringing the chat to an end, the participants were asked to share any recent changes they had noticed in their city planning that reflect policymakers’ efforts to create a city for everyone.
