Safety in Schools and Colleges

On 30th June, Pradeep Kakar @1901Prady conducted a TweetChat on the issue of “Safety is Schools and Colleges”

The chat discussed the issue of safety from different aspects. It first began by discussing the main factors/people responsible for the safety of students withing a school/college which progressed to whether educational institutions should also take up the responsibility of educating their students about their rights and duties with regards to safety. As the primary places of education, participants discussed the measures that these institutions can take against bullying and harassment which, very often, emerge as the major problems. The chat also highlighted the duties of the school/college towards those students who are disabled or have learning difficulties and how a culture of bystander intervention can be inculcated through the entire course of educating a student.
